Join the 1872 Society Today!

Lower Falls of the Yellowstone River by Matt LudinA national treasure like Yellowstone deserves extraordinary philanthropy. Yellowstone belongs to all of us, and we have a collective responsibility to ensure that its grandeur and magic are available to future generations.

As the park’s official fundraising partner, we rely on the foresight and steadfast commitment of generous individuals to ensure that Yellowstone endures for all time. We invite you to become a member of a special group: the 1872 Society.

A Legacy of Stewardship

In 1872, Congress made the bold statement that would give birth to the national park system. Persuaded by the photos, paintings and descriptions that explorers and artists presented, they established Yellowstone as the world’s first national park, to be “set apart as a public park or pleasuring ground for the benefit and enjoyment of the people.”

For the past 15 years, the Yellowstone Park Foundation has given people who are passionate about the park a direct way to give back to it.  Please consider expanding your role in Yellowstone’s continuing story by becoming a member of the 1872 Society.
